About Premiere Optical

Call them hand-made spectacles or glasses, bespoke spectacles or glasses, custom or custom-made spectacles or glasses - we’ve made them (and repaired them) for over 50 years! We have made them for individuals and for the optical trade where spectacle-wearers want an individual & personal alternative to the mass-market. In recent years the demand for unique one-off glasses frames has increased along with the demand for limited ranges of frames. Today we are making that offer available on-line – though you are very welcome to telephone us at any time.

What are hand-made spectacles?

We make hand-crafted spectacle frames for individuals and for opticians which are genuinely hand-made from start to finish.  At Premiere hand made means hand made! There are very, very few other hand-made spectacles makers left in the world.  Your RetrogradeU© spectacles would be rare for their design but also for their genuine hand-made quality. We have a full eyeglass glazing department.

Film & TV

We have a long history of supplying classic and modern glasses designs for the Theatre, TV & Film industry, based on our reputation for design, quality & delivery. You’ll have seen our work many times on the screen.  We made the first Harry Potter Spectacles! 

Our Own Spectacles Collections

Due to demand, we have made available our own collections which have been created and designed for individuality. They are distinctly unique in design, specification & quality. They are a distinct antidote to the normal mass produced frames available everywhere else.

Design Your Own

Alternatively if you want to replace a treasured frame that is broken or no longer in production we can repair or copy to the exact specification. Or if you have the imagination (and know your measurements) we will make you a one off unique creation based on your vision.  The only limit is your imagination!  Or we can make any other pair of glasses into sunglasses, with prescription lenses if you wish.
